In the spring of 2000 the City of Livermore and an alliance of faith organizations contacted East Bay Habitat for Humanity about building affordable homes as on an unusual mid-block lot. Habitat selected Siegel & Strain to design the project based on sustainable design principles. Twenty-three new 3 and 4-bedroom homes are set around a landscaped common in the center of the site. The project is designed to be a model of affordable sustainable design for Habitat and the City of Livermore.
