Zzyzx Mineral Springs Historic District is a remote site on the shore of Dry Soda Lake in Mojave National Preserve. Siegel & Strain was hired by the National Park Service to assess two contributing structures, the Zzyzx Bath House and Sunrise House, and make recommendations for their stabilization. The Bath House is comprised of a roofed bath house and an open air, walled enclosure with pools of various sizes, depths and temperatures. Sunrise House provided twelve overnight guest units.

Constructed of concrete from raw materials mined at the site, the buildings are now in a seriously deteriorated state. The scope of work included a current conditions survey and recommendations for rehabilitation, repair and accessibility improvements for the Bath House, which will be opened for interpretive use only. Sunrise House will be stabilized and "mothballed" until such time as a specific use is determined.
